Vegetarian Lentil Burger
This was actually really good, despite the ingredients sounding a little weird.
What you’ll need:
- 4 burger buns
- Cheddar cheese
- Tomato
- Lettuce
- 3 Red onion
- Mayonnaise
- Sriracha
Burger meat:
- 1 cup uncooked lentils & 2 cups water
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 1 cup walnuts
- 1/3 cup raisins
- 2 eggs
- Salt and pepper
- 1-3 tablespoon water or as needed
- 2 tablespoon mustard sauce
Mustard sauce:
- 4 tablespoons maple syrup
- 3 tablespoons yellow mustard (American mustard style works best)
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
How to make it:
Mix mustard sauce ingredients and set aside.
Cook your lentils with water for 25 min.
In a food processor mix cooked lentils, walnuts and raisins (you want to leave some texture).
In a bowl combine the rest of the burger meat ingredients except for the tablespoons of water. The tablespoons of water you can add if you feel the texture is too dry and won’t stick properly.
Finally form four burger patties. Fry in a pan with olive oil. Put together your burgers and enjoy!

Very realistic-looking. 🙂
Best regards, Niklas 🎈
Oh I forgot to add! The 3 red onion is for making carmelised onion. To do that chop them up and put them in a frying pan with olive oil for 20 minutes on med to med-low heat. The goal is to have translucent soft onion, not fried crispy onion. Add a little salt as well.

#1 Extremely realistic looking! Did it stay together well or crumble?
All the best, Leia
